My office is on the West Side of Los Angeles in the heart of Westwood Village, a block from UCLA
Alex moved to Westwood from Miami nearly five years ago to do a PhD, and he took his therapy practice with him. You can check out the map below to find his address, or you can click here to pull it up in your browser or your favorite maps app.
Alexander Recalt, LCSW
Alex is a Swiss-born, multilingual former management consultant and current psychotherapist and mental health researcher who's called 12 cities home. He sees therapy not as something fundamentally medical, but as a conversation in the truest sense of the word: a familiar, intimate space in which human beings can be radically and safely honest with each other about how hard life can be, and work together to make it a little bit easier.
He earned his B.A. at Middlebury College and his Master's degree at Florida International University. He's currently pursuing his Ph.D, conducting quantitative research on prescribed psychotropic drug safety. (If you’re curious, you can find some of his research here.) Besides plumbing the depths of the human condition in pursuit of happier, more satisfied clients, he enjoy the bass guitar, the NBA, and statistics — so if you have a favorite scale, power forward, or R package, don't hesitate to call him.
If you don’t see a photo of Alex nearby, it’s probably because he needs to get new headshots. Remind him, would you?
